ROI Media Consultants’ founder and President, Bill Whitham, started ROI in 2002. He moved to Seattle in 1999, working for Microsoft as an Account Executive at MSN. Prior to Seattle, Bill worked in NYC, selling both newspaper and magazine advertising for large publishing houses. His roots are in Utah, where he attended Utah State University, working his way through school by selling local newspaper advertising. He utilizes his online and traditional advertising expertise, as well as industry-wide connections to provide clients optimum online exposure and efficencies. Additionally, his extensive media buying experience, leverageing data and cutting edge techniques, enables ROI to successfully develop media buying and selling processes. Bill’s publisher relationships and business development experience has been instrumental in forming many strategic partnerships within digital display, video, and mobile advertising industry, as well as many other online platforms. Bill focuses on the holistic picture to forward ROI and their partners’ ultimate success, continually increasing exposure and monetization of their platforms.
General Manager, Video
Mike Schlegel is the General Manager of ROI’s video division, with over 17 years of digital media executive leadership experience.
Prior to partnering with ROI Media Consultants, he was the west coast Regional Vice President at Innovid, the world’s leading cross-screen video adserving and interactive video platform, which services many of the world’s major independent and publicly-traded agencies and agency holding companies. Innovid is backed by Sequoia Capital, Cisco and Deutsche Telekom among others.
Additionally, serving as Vice President of Brand Sales & Account Services, Mike launched and built the “brand advertising” division from scratch at startup AdColony, a mobile video advertising and platform who’s proprietary “instant-play” technology serves video ads in HD without buffering across the world’s most popular Android and iOS apps. AdColony was backed by Insight Venture Partners and acquired by Opera Software.
Mike was also Regional Vice President at Millennial Media, opening the mobile ad network’s sales and sales support office in the west. The company was backed by Columbia Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and New Enterprise Associates among others, launching a successful IPO and subsequent sale to AOL.
Mike’s start in digital media was an 8-year term at MSN (Microsoft Advertising) as Regional Manager for the automotive and entertainment vertical sales teams, representing all of Microsoft’s platforms including MSN, Xbox, Microsoft Media Network, Bing, and then-partners such as FOX Sports, Facebook, Wonderwall, and MSNBC.
Following his graduation from San Diego State University with a BS in Marketing Business Administration and as a Division I NCAA All-American indoor volleyball athlete, Mike had an early career in professional beach volleyball and competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials for the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta.
Director of Operations
Brandon attended the University of Washington and the Foster School of Business in Seattle where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree. From there he went on to work at an IT consulting firm named Avanade as a financial analyst. While working there nearly 5 years, his duties ranged from financial analytics, reporting and operations. After his time there he then moved over to an operations role at ROI, where his main responsibilities include operations, reporting, statistical analytics and optimizations to help increase efficiencies and profits for all of our business partners.
Director of Video Ad Operations
After graduating from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors in Public Relations, he worked as an Account Manager at Porch.com, helping home professionals promote their businesses get connected with their local customer bases, and maximizing their return on investment.
After leaving Porch.com, Chris entered the Digital Advertising Industry as an Ad Operations Specialist at Zumobi, Inc. As an Ad Ops Specialist, he was responsible for running direct and programmatic advertising campaigns for various agencies and brands. For the two years he was at Zumobi, his responsibilities included managing B2B relationships, analyzing and optimizing ad campaigns, and reporting. After leaving Zumobi, Chris spent time freelancing for multiple small businesses; providing advertising and marketing expertise.
As Director of Video Ad Operations at ROI, Chris has used his experience and expertise to help grow our video business by maintaining relationships, analyzing and optimizing campaigns, and reporting. He has expertise with multiple Ad Servers, DSPs and SSPs, including: LKQD, Springserve, AOL 1, Inner-Active, Freewheel and Beachfront.
Chris also volunteers as Assistant Director of Emerald City Supporters FC, where he helps grow and maintain Washington’s largest Adult Soccer Club.
In his personal life, Chris is a passionate outdoor enthusiast and soccer fan, who stays active by playing competitive soccer, hiking, and skiing.
